Study doesn’t always have to be difficult. With your mobile, it can be easy. You don’t have to waste your time looking for a good tutor for you or your child. It is going to take you only few seconds to find a qualified and recommended tutors only if you have a smartphone.
A Hong Kong companySnapask, has their mobile app that enables students to find a tutor in seconds. You can ask a question with a snapshot and then the app will match them you a tutor. Once you are matched with a tutor you can have one-to-one lessons.
The app was launched last year and now more than 100,000 students in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan have downloaded and using the app. There are more than 5,000 qualified tutors from different universities helping the students through Snapask.
Timothy Yu, the founder of the app, has explained that his app is like WhatsApp. It’s like an instant messenger where you can text, send images and audio or video messages.
Of course, the tutors in the app are paid certain amount. In general, you can earn around $20 per hour and can be more if he spends more time tutoring through the app.
There is another app, called Tutor Hunt, available in the UK. Same as the previous one, the app enables parents and students to check out a list of tutors offering subjects in various fields. According to the words of John Underhill, Tutor Hunt, there are over 250,000 people who are using the app to find tutors and more and more tutors are using the app. Tutor Hunt also offers online tuition via Skype.
In Egypt, also, Tyro is working on a whiteboard software which will help students to have online sessions.
Online tutoring is as effective as personal tutoring and may be even more.
