3D PRINTERS CAN PRINT A HAIR NOW

3D printers might be one of the coolest things we have in our own time. They can print anything starting from food to a train. However, printing out a piece of hair or fur and such kind of dense stuffs were pretty hard task for the technology.

Nevertheless, good news is coming from the scientists of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The researchers from the university have developed a new technology to overcome the problem with the 3D printers.

They have created new software which can design and print out thousands of hair which would normally take too much time and power to compute and print.

The old version of the software was called CAD of conventional computer-aided design. The software would take too many hours to create a thousand of hair-like structure. Now the scientist team has made a new software called Cillia. Cilia can make a thousand of hair just in few minutes. To create the hairs, users can even define the thickness, density, angle and the heights of the hairs. They already have tried their new software to create arrays of hair-like structures with the width of a human hair.

We can use the technology to print hair extension and wigs. One of the researchers has said that the team tried to extend the usage of the 3D printers.
